Calibration Test Question
I've my new digital hygro's in the salt test for about 12 hours now, and one reads 70% while the other reads 55% Is this normal? Or is one just way off?

Re: Calibration Test Question
Leave them in there for a minimum 12 more hours, some would say to a minimum of 36. If you're not closer to 75% rh by then, I'd start thinking of your salt mixture, is the container air-tight, and, of course, the accuracy of the hygros.

Re: Calibration Test Question
Did you remember to pull the battery for 10 sec before putting them in the bag?
The one at 70% is only 5 points off. That's isn't unusual. The one at 55% sounds defective. Take them out of the bag for an hour and see what they read. In theory, they will always be 15% apart from each other if they are both functional (give or take a point or two). I bet the one reading 55 doesn't change much. Another thing. How close are the temperatures? If the thermometer is off, then the rH calculation is worthless. |

Re: Calibration Test Question
I've had a couple take up to 2 days to settle in. Give them some more time
