Colibri Enterprise?

I was at a B&M, picked up a few Cain Habanos, and a pre-embargo Cuban. Anyway the Colibri Enterprise caught my eye. The wood and chrome design plus the triple flame almost made me shell out the $100 right there on the spot.

Anyway, before I left I asked the girl at the counter if I could light up the Cain with the Colibri and see how it worked. She allowed me to do so, and wow was I impressed. Worked on the very first click unlike my Xikar, and lit up the decently big ring gauge of the Cain in less than 5 seconds. Logic says that 3 flames will definitely waste butane much faster than a single flame.. BUT it takes me a good 15-20 seconds to light up a large ring gauge with a single flame, as opposed to the 5 seconds it took for the triple flame.

I know people have had bad experiences with Colibri, but as anyone had any experience with this particular lighter? Also from what I understand Colibri has been bought out or went under? What does that mean for the warranty?

Heres a pic:

Re: Colibri Enterprise?

Colibri is gone, kaput, folded up, etc etc.

I had one, it broke within a month and I just threw it out, life is too short for products that NEED a warantee

1. Colibi was recently reopened.
Colibri flame lit again - Projo Biz Blog

2. The warranty used to be lifetime, but now it is 2 years.
Colibri - Support

3. I have a 12+ year-old Colibri lighter that still works same as the day I got it. I did have trouble with it about a month after purchase, due to it being my first butane lighter. I used crappy fuel from the local drugstore, and clogged it up. I mailed it back to Colibri, they cleaned/fixed it, and had it back to me within a week. They advised to use better fuel, which I did. Been perfect ever since.

(I cannot attest to the new company yet, as they just re-opened, but I had nothing but a good experience with my lighter from the original company).

Re: Colibri Enterprise?

Thanks for the responses, I think I'm gonna go ahead and pick it up. I'll probably pick up some Colibri butane as well.

Edit: After reading a bit, I discovered that Vector butane is the way to go.

Re: Colibri Enterprise?

It's a gamble. Good luck.

I've found that most jet lighters fail quickly, regardless of brand or how well they worked when you bought them. Typically ignition problems rather than fuel pressure problems.

Now, I only buy the cheap ones. With the exception of the fuel tank, they all have the same common components inside. You're really paying for the brand name and the fit and finish of the outer shell.

Re: Colibri Enterprise?

Hey I had one of them I returned it because after 1 cigar I had to refill it , I picked up the colibri aspire stealth and couldnt be happier. when you light it you can see the reflection of the foot of the cigar in the top of the lighter when you light it and its much more accurate when lighting then the triple flame. I also have there slyce black cigar cutter its great. I would go with the aspire all day over the triple flame , and I would go with the vector butane cause its 5 times refined just my 2 cents. Good luck bro
