need a cheap humidor

hi, i just started smoking recently and decided i need a humidor. I just need something that can store around around 5 cigars for at least 4 weeks. im on a budget tho, and i can't really afford anything more than $40 (including shipping). can anybody recommend any good humidors that are in this price range?

ah i really appreciate the offer but i already ordered the humidor he suggested.

is there anything else that i need to get for my humidor? and what do i have to do to it once i get it?

As Smitty said read that other thread, I think everyone uses the beads for the most part, If you won't take the humi can I send you a few sticks? Don't be shy this is normal around here. If so send me the info.

I just got back into Cigars about 3 months ago.

I ordered the Humidor/cigar deal and am quite pleased with it. Although I think it humidifier they gave me is probably not that good. I have to put the Humidifier in for a day and leave out for a day to keep it a steady 70% ish.

So I gave in and ordered some beads from Heartfelt. What's the best way to mositurize them? I also ordered the small spray bottle.

Ok one more thing? How do I get tte fourms to display the other way? Oldest to newest going down, instead of newest to oldest going up?

If you are talking about the 20ct humidor and 8 sticks special from CI, which I believe you are. You will get the 8 sticks, the humidor and a small humidifier.

I have been on a 5 year hiatus from smoking cigars and never owned a Humidor before. I have a friend who own's a cigar lounge, so i would just go in there and buy whatever i wanted and usually smoked it same day.

But after looking around the internet and a bunch of different methods. I wiped out the inside of my humidor with distilled water, I used very little water. Then I filled a shot glass 3/4 full of distilled water and let it sit in there for about a week. I wasn't sure what to do with the humidifier thing so I put a little distilled water in there too and my humidity was sky high. I dryed out my humidifier and my RH stablizied for a few days. but every third day I have to add water to it. So I finally gave in and bought beads and have been fine since. I am sure I messed up the humidifier or something along the way. But I am quite positive some of the more "seasoned" members can give much more wisdom then I.

So after my long story, all you should need is some distilled water and a Hygrometer, unless you go the bead route (you still want the hygrometer). Wal-mart sells one for 7.99 in their home and garden area which I have and it calibarted perfect and a few others I have seen on the net have had similar succes with. Oh and this is addicting, so start saving and looking for a bigger Humidor.

Yes! Throw that humidifier out onto a busy street and take joy in watching it get run over and over. Order a 65% tube from Heartfelt. Mist it lightly, or better yet, stick it into a small tupperware with a sponge and distilled water for a few days to charge passively.

I doubt seriously whether that hygrometer will be calibrated. I also doubt that it is calibratable. Toss it. If you use beads, you don't need no stinkin' hygrometer.

Stay as far away from PG solutions as possible, unless you like headaches or own stock in asprin. I don't care what anyone says, getting stabile humidity from that crap is impossible.
