I'm going to try adjusting the knob as suggested here, and if that doesn't help, maybe I will send it back again...just seems like a pain for both parties. Thanks for the idea though.

Re: Xikar Woes

Hi guys! Christy from XIKAR here. Just to let everyone know, we have a lifetime warranty on our products for the following reason: we do not want any of our products thrown in a drawer or tossed in the garbage!

I actually did that with a Xi2 that I dropped on a concrete floor (before starting to work for XIKAR); assumed I had no recourse & threw it in the garbage & bought another XIKAR.

So, Icehog3, return your unsatisfactory cutter to us & we will replace it. The last thing we want is bad mojo on a forum like this one: .

And by the way, we don't care if a cutter is dropped. We need that information. The reason that a cutter is returned is important to our continuing improvements in quality.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any concerns. We are always happy to answer questions. We appreciate your support!

That's probably a good thing for vendors/manufacturers to do...at least IMHO because what better way to see how thier products are stacking up than to actually go out and read how well/poorly they are performing straight from the customer base...

Good on ya Christy

We got friends in high places
A drop shouldn't render a cutter useless, so it is good to see that they are wanting to make good on the warranty. Good luck, Tom.
Welcome, Christy!

Re: Xikar Woes

Xikar stood behine my Xi2 when I dropped it and it sprung apart. I was able to put it back together myself, but the latch didn't automaticly lock. I called them and told them i dropped it. They said no problem, just send it back. I got it back about a week or two later all fixed.

I'd hazard to guess that the metal Xi1 is less prone to coming apart because there has to be more flex in the plastic Xi2. The plastic one is cheaper for a reason I guess. My next one will be the metal one for sure. Its still a great product I'd say! Especially with the warranty and customer service.

Christy, as a fan of your company...not only does Xikar make great cutters...I'm a knife collecter as well, and your offerings are very impressive!

I just saw their steak knives in this months Smoke. Just trying to come up with a good reason to order them. I think that would push the wife over the edge more than the 2 box purchases I made this week. She told me if I don't quit it with the credit cards she is stealing them from me and cutting them up. Plus I don't have the luxury of sending smokes to work yet being I just started at a new place and I think it may be too soon for packages to start coming on a regular basis.
