Re: Arizona Humi owners!
I'm live in a suburb of Phoenix and have a coolerdor (although it's not very cool) and two desktops and they all run about 82 degrees at 65%-70%. I don't collect cigars although I just ordered about 75 more. My electric bill last month was 485.00 (keeping the house between 81-86 - very large home) and I don't have a basement so I guess a fridge is in order. I'll keep an eye out for critters.

I also live in AZ... I can get my den (where my humi is) down to a constant 72 deg in the summer. I don't want to get above 75, but I also freeze all of my 'gars when I get them in. I notice NO difference after they have been frozen. No bugs yet

Re: Arizona Humi owners!
I live in Phx. myself and was having the same problem. All you need is an Aristocrat climate controlled humi from Bob Staebell. I have one and keep it at a constant 65% and 70 degrees. Picture below, I think.

Re: Arizona Humi owners!
Being a fellow Desert Rat and dealing with the same problem here's what I do,
On my Desk top I keep it in my office out of the sun, near an AC vent with a fan blowing on it, I keep RH around 63-65% in that box. My cooler I keep out of the sun and near an AC vent, I make Ice cubes out of Distilled water and keep some in there in a small container, I also keep a small sponge dampened with Distilled water in there and I check it often. Right now the cooler is at 68 F % 68% RH, it runs pretty steady at close to 70-70 which is where I want it, I plan on going to 70% Beads in there before too much longer Hope this helps some ...Right or wrong, it's working good for me.

Re: Arizona Humi owners!
Whoa. I just relocated from AZ after living there for 9 yrs. (Phoenix-Tempe-Chandler) and I never had this problem. I kept my humi in my home office, always left the blinds closed, ceiling fan running, no issues.

Re: Arizona Humi owners!
Well it seems our AZ Chapter of CS has grown quite a bit in a short time..... might be time to set up the next AZ HERF?????
![]() My Aristocrat isn't temp controlled but I just keep my home nice and freezing (which is how I like it anyway). My , spend the xtra $$$ to keep your home cooled and protect your investment until you can upgrade to a climate controlled cabinet. Or maybe just pick up a VinoTemp.XXX |

Re: Arizona Humi owners!
I had a coolerdor and as soon as sumer roled around it was at 80 I went out and bought a wine cooler. I keep it at 68 deg. and 63% humidity.

Yeah we haven't done one since last year as a couple of our AZ brethren have recently fallen off the map. I'm going to be helping to set up the Las Vegas HERF II for this Nov but maybe we can squeeze in an AZ HERF sometime before then. XXX |

Re: Arizona Humi owners!
I would probably be up for an AZ herf as well ... although I don't really know what that is, I assume it is a gathering of some kind =)
