search for a guy with the eBay ID robustohumidors. He has excellent feedback and his humidors are excellent (with good prices).

Re: ebay humidor

Look around...there are a few reputable humidor sellers on eBay, with good customer service. This guy looks like he sells a little of everything and may no jack sh#t about humidors.

I don't like this one ....no singles tray, those clasps on the front are just waiting to break. I bought my first two humidors off eBay from sellers that deal in humidors and accessories only, and was very happy with each. The shipping was no where near $45...I think he is trying to hide the cost, and I don't think that humi is worth $55, much less the ridiculous $399 retail he quotes.

If you're willing to work with something smaller, I still have one of these left, per the thread linked below:

Re: ebay humidor

And since I just received humidor no 3 from Hammerhead, I can say that these are very fine. Only way I can describe them is by comparing them to cars. The build, fit and finish is like a BMW compared to a lower end Chevrolet. All I needed to do was touch the materials to know these were of very high quality. The attention to detail is unmatched from any humidor I've personally owned, and I've had plenty 50 to 100 dollar boxes to compare it with. You do, in most cases, get what you pay for, but these are BMW's at Chevy prices. You wouldn't be disappointed by picking up his last one. They're a deal!

Re: ebay humidor

I agree that Hammerhead's humis are top quality stuff....but if it doesn't fit in someone's budget, what can ya do? I posted those less expensive eBay humis because I've had experience with two of the three sellers and gotten good quality for the money. That being said, someone should jump all over Robert's last one.

Tom, you done right by this guy, and you made some good recommendations. No problems here on my end. That's what CS should be about - sharing information and helpin' guys out.

Larry, thanks for the help. You make a valid point, and offer a terrific comparison.

OilMan, keep in mind that when dealing with low-end humidors on Ebay, their idea of a 'discount' means you get a $125 humidor for $100. In my case, it's a $900 humidor for $125 all in - shipping included. So in the case of the one Icehog pointed to, it's $60 plus $16 for shipping means you're $76 for a low end box, rather than stretching a few bucks extra for an heirloom quality piece that'll last a lifetime and you'll be proud to put anywhere in your home.

Sorry about that link - I forgot that newbies have some limitations for a while. If you want to see some high-res photos, check my website here: CLICKY.

Naturally, you have to pick what fits your budget, but think about it a bit before you pull the trigger. My philosophy on buying things has always been: "Buy it once, buy it right."

Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

It's all good, bro. No misunderstanding at all. I totally got where you're at. Wish I could afford to let it go for within your budget, but I'm pretty much in the same boat, which is why I'm sellin' it in the first place. If there's anything we can help with, let us know!
