Which cooler do you use...?

Possibly looking to do a coolerador here soon. Trying to figure what cooler works the best for everybody. Is one better than another?

I'm probably not gonna go over a 50qt. for now, That should get me by just fine. The 50 will fit better in my closet and not cause it to be an obstacle to get around and plus it looks like it'll hold what I got now just fine. Did some preliminary drawings of how I want to do it. Cedar lined, pc fans, beads....etc.

Any input is thankful in this future project. And sorry if this is a repost of past topic. I didn't see or don't remember seeing when I searched it.

Thanks

It realy doesnt matter which one you get.

Just go large, go large. You will need it.

Yea I agree with the go large comment. I have set up a 54 qt Igloo with an Oasis Plus and some beads and am rapidly approaching critical mass.

I have an Igloo 50 and it is a good size. You will want a cedar tray or empty box for singles.

Re: Which cooler do you use...?

Yep - if you can, you may want a larger cooler...

I saw you comments about cedar lining & pc fan. My coolerdor has neither. I get enough benefit from the cedar cigar boxes, plus I keep the cedar inserts from empty boxes. I also use an Oust fan. Both seem to work fine.

Re: Which cooler do you use...?

About a couple of yrs. ago I had 120 qt Igloo which I lined with cedar and put in 4 shelves. I had it standing on it's side, had a remote OS and a CO which I filled with beads. I think I was able to fit around 28 boxes ranging from torps to TPC's.

Listen to the BOTL's, go BIG!!! My 120qt Igloo is FULL, I'm looking at adding a 128qt now. The slope is so steep!

Re: Which cooler do you use...?

FWIW... I have two Igloos and one Coleman. I prefer the Coleman, primarilly because it has a deeper (m/f) sealing surface. This is NOT a concern during summer months in my neck of the woods. However, it DOES become a concern during the long, dry winter months.

Whatever you go with go big iy gets filed real fast. Look for one with a good seal so your humidity will stay stable.

Re: Which cooler do you use...?

Dosen't really matter what brand you use...I have a 20 Liter one from the grocery store that works just great. The sides and topr are lined with Spanish Cedar, and I had to use weather stripping to seal up the top due to a big gap, but hey, It works just great for my needs.

Re: Which cooler do you use...?

Sorry - coolers are for beer and fish!......
If you plan on investing large amounts of money on fine cigars, why stick them in a plastic cooler....might as well wrap them in a hefty bag!
