Re-use humi pouches?
Recieved some cigars in a humi pouch today and i was wondering if i can reuse it as part of or as the humidification device in a travel humi? can it be recharged cos it will obviously dry out over time.
any thoughts/suggestions on this matter? |

Re: Re-use humi pouches?
if it's the boveda packets they generally only last for ~3-5 months if kept in an airtight container...you can't recharge those...
as far as some of the other ones (water pillows, smaller bead containers etc..), I hear you can recharge them to your hearts' content...

Re: Re-use humi pouches?
Like CF said - depends on what kind it is. An actual "humi-pouch" is only good for a certain amount of time - but others can be recharged.
Got a name on it or can you post a picture? Ron |

Re: Re-use humi pouches?
Its the one in this pic if that helps.
the actual "wet" bit in the back and i think i could use a syringe and inject distilled water in there to keep it wet, i assume its made of a humidty controlling material like humi-beads. I think when it does dry out i will try recharing anyway, i mean i havnt got anything to lose. ![]() |

Re: Re-use humi pouches?
I use those. You can see it in the pic(lower right corner), they say they are good for 90 days. It has some kind of wet padded element to humidify. They work very well.

I should think that if i use a syringe and very fine needle i could put some distilled water in there when it dries out, then use it again as a travel humi. |

Re: Re-use humi pouches?
Or they cost about £3.50 from your friendly local B&M. Well, they do at mine.
