Ambient RH
Maybe I'm overthiking this now, but I'm curious how other people handle it. I'm using wooden cigar boxes to store my singles. The wine cooler is humidified with 65% beads and an oust fan pointed at the cooling plate. here is the question. Do I require further humdification devices inside the closed boxes- does the moisture in the cooler provide enough humidity to the cigars in closed boxes?

Re: Ambient RH
the box will take on the humi lvl of any eviroment it is in over time, what this means is it will need to be seasoned, or kept open for a few days in your humi, but this is not out of exp, just my feeling.

Re: Ambient RH
No need to humidify the closed boxes if the RELATIVE humidity in the closed wine cooler is holding steady. The boxes are permeable, unless vacuum sealed in which case the bags are still permeable but at a much slower rate.
Hope this helps ~Mark |
