tupperdor help + bead question (tubes)
Alright, so I should have read all the threads promoting a "get a bigger size than you need" before I bought my humidor. I bought a 20 ct humidor and within 2 weeks it is already full and I need another solution. I had a quick question about that: can I "stack" cigars on top of each other in my 20ct or would that be a bad idea?? I can get more than 20 in there if I stack.
I thought about building a tupperdor. Now, I am 100% sure I won't be filling this thing up any time soon due to my monetary situation currently(graduate looking for a job). I was wondering if a tupperdor would be the way to go?? I was thinking about just getting a larger cedar humidor. The thing I'm worried about is that I have to let air circulate to my cigars every few weeks. I plan on being more of a collector of cigars. I want to collect cigars and keep them for a while and let them age. That being said, I don't really want to worry about my cigars going bad because I forgot to air out my tupperdor. Is this a big enough concern to go with a real humidor? Also, I bought a .5 pound bag of beads and 1 and 2 oz empty tubes. Do I fill the tubes up fully or only partial with beads?? Should I wet the beads first before putting them in the tube or after?? What is the best way to wet the beads within the tube? Thanks!! -T2 |

Re: tupperdor help + bead question (tubes)
Put the beads in a bowl and wet them with distilled water until the white goes away...then fill the tubes all the way. In a 20 count humi I find one tube does the trick...I had two tubes in my 100 count humi and I had to charge the beads once a week-so I got a 4 oz aluminum holder...1 oz just wasn't enough. I think 1-2 oz will take care of the 20 count humi

Re: tupperdor help + bead question (tubes)
Yes you can lay cigars on top of each other without any problem, think about how singles are stored in B&M shops or even presentation boxes / cabinets where there are two or three layers of cigars.
As for bead setup, Viper has an excellent page giving full instructions on how to use beads - http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/Bead%20Set%20Up.htm |
