OO - the heat --

Lol seems we have been getting some high temps and humidity the past few weeks here in socal.

But this past week i seem to be having a problem with my wine cooler/humidor
I cant seem to keep my rf down keeps running to to 75%-80%

I keep drying out my beads in the back water reservwar with a hairblower every 2days. becoming a pain

Normly i get a stedy 60% top and 65-68 bottom at a temp of 63
and im great with that but this recent weather is just messing it all up..

might have to get one of thouse temp controlers others have posted about and set the box to 70f or somthing...

The only other thing I can think of for ya' is to add pieces of unseasoned Cedar to your humidor. Like if you have any empty boxes, put those in the humidor, break them into sheets or whatever, the cedar should soak up moisture.]

Or...Get that silica gel beads that only absorbes moisture....it comes with lots of things you buy and says "do not eat" on it...These dont work the same as the awesome beads that heartfelt makes, These will only absorb moisture which right now is what you need. Or just get more heartfelt beads.

If the door seal is good you need to see where the moisture is getting in. Sometimes there are small cracks arounf the cooling unit that let moisture in, look around carefully and see if you can find something. If you do try to seal it as best you can.

Re: OO - the heat --

sorry about your problem brother...ive been having similar problems here, but to a lesser degree. noticed like 2 weeks back that my humidor was up to 74 and the cooler i just made round the same. so i took out all humidifcations and let the humidor stay open for awhile. its better now. holding rock steady with 67-68 and no humidifcation. as for the cooler, i forgot and fell asleep with the lid off and when i got up the next morning it was still 70 in there. so i checked my basement and it is likt 67-68 or so...maybe worse. crazy humidity/heat. hope you can figure out how to fix the prob. you could always try what i did and leave the doors open for a few hours if the ambient humidity in the house is lower. good luck.
oh and by the way, the wine coolerdoor is gorgeouso.

hey buddy
i've been doing somthing like that every 2-3 days
I do try to open the door but at the same time its hotter in my house ie dont keep my house at 65F so the temp drops again and humidity picks up again

I've been wiping down the walls with paper towells and using a hair drier to dry out the beads. every few days just hoping i dont kill my beads

anyhow i ordered a johnson controler going to try to set the temp higher thus reducing how much the compresser is on in the unit

for anyone who is looking
