How about this wine cooler as humidor?

A wine cooler that meets all our requirements

Clear and concise: Labelling
Labels along the decorative wooden front trim help keep track of wines.

Fresh: Dynamic cooling
The correct humidity level is important to ensure that corks are kept moist. A humidity of 60-70% is ideal to ensure that corks allow the wine to breathe as it matures. Dynamic cooling ensures a permanent circulation of air and constant temperature in the inner cabinet.

Precise: Temperature control
The selected temperature (between 5°C and 22°C) is precisely monitored and electronically controlled. The temperature display on the control panel provides precise information on the temperatures inside the appliance.

Alert: Buzzer
The integrated buzzer sounds when the temperature in the cabinet rises or drops to unacceptable levels (approx. 4°C above or below the selected temperature), if the door is left open for more than 3 mins. If there has been a power cut, an acoustic signal will sound when the appliance is switched on again. Safe and convenient thanks to high-performance electronic controls.

Sturdy: Racks
The height-adjustable, versatile racks allow individual arrangement and optimum use of cabinet space. A 2° incline towards the back of the unit ensures safe, secure storage of wines. The max. load capacity of the racks is 50 kg, which equates to approx. 36 Bordeaux bottles.

Safe: Door lock
Safety is also an important feature. The standard door lock prevents unauthorised access to precious wines

What do you guys think?
Sounds like it would be perfect for our application without having to worry about temp, pucks, beads etc etc...

The other range even has seperate compartments that can be individually controlled in humidity and temp (long term storage vs smoke now storage vs dry cut storage)

Where are my brains?

Right... it's by Miele

For those of us who can afford to fill this giant up

And for those of us who can't

What a pleasure, no more needing to check or worry about the temp outside or whether the humidity is right (well except for when there's a power cut)

Looks great, but I don't see these as available on their US site.

Re: How about this wine cooler as humidor?

Love Meile kit; they run into the exotic with home espresso gear including a factory installed, heated drawer for cup storage. Quality stuff in my experience. In my dreams... wood panelled, heated, padded, insulated coffee cup drawer. Woo baby. I just want a taste of that life - just a little lick.

How bad can their wine cooler be? For wine, prob'ly perfect. For cigar storage you might have to do a little hacking with temp controller, etc. I don't think their stuff hasn't come up here already, likely because it is very expensive equipment that might be equalled with less costly machines for the same (humi) purpose. Market-standard Meile (S.A.) winecoolers may, however, be lockable AND cobra-proof.

How much for those coolers over there in USD, if you don't mind saying?
