A lot of us are in the same boat. My humi is at 70 and the heat is around 72. I recommend getting the heartfelt beads, they work great and will eliminate your humi worries. Good luck.

Mine runs around 70 or below and 62-65% rh. I'm too scared to let the temp get any higher. I would suggest you keep the humi in the coolest spot possible and get the beads.

This might get more attention in the questions forum........oh, mod?

Re: Temp. & Humidity in my Humi!!

I agree with both of the above post the goal is to keep the temps as close to 70 as possible. If the temp gets too high you could get unwanted guest. I would also add that if you can’t keep your temp down invest in a cooler. In my opinion they are much easier to control the temp and humidity in.

Also beads are the only way to go to regulate humidity the ones in my cooler are dead on.

Re: Temp. & Humidity in my Humi!!

my humidor gets up to 78 degrees on a daily basis :[

im about to buy a dozen freezer packs and use those to help keep the humidor under 75.

humidity is dead set at 65% thanks to the beads though, never have to worry about that again!

I keep my desktop humi in a cooler with a freezer pack on a towel to absorb the condensation. It stays below 70F.

Re: Temp. & Humidity in my Humi!!

Without question get the beads...as a newbie it was the first strong piece of advice I received and it made all the difference in the world...I have two desktops (20 count and 50 count) -- both now have beads.

Re: Temp. & Humidity in my Humi!!

It is in the comfort zone now 75degrees and 60% humidity but it seems that some of the cigars are harder than others!?!? How come?

I am no expert on cigar density or anything, but I believe it all depends on how tight or loose the cigar was rolled. There are probably some correlations with the type of tobacco used but I dont know...not to worry my friend.

Re: Temp. & Humidity in my Humi!!

Good idea. I once lived in a house with no AC during the summer months some years ago used a couple of those exactly the way you describe and they worked like a charm. You might want to start out with just one and see how that helps out before putting 2 of them in there, the temp might drop too much.
