Question Blazer PB207 / STDupont X-Tend...

I have two questions....one about the Blazer PB-207 and the other about the ST Dupont X-Tend.

I recently bought a Blazer PB-207 off eBay. Does the flame adjuster actually raise and lower the flame??? Mine seems to not really raise/lower the flame but more so increase the intensity of the flame. I tested this in a dark room.

Secondly, to those who have the ST Dupont X-Tend. How well do the finishes hold up??? Someone was telling me that the gloss finishes might peel...

Thanks,
-Bill

Gloss on mine is great. However the sides opened up a bit. They just kinda loosened from the seam. Lead Boy said he has seen it happened and his still works perfectly each and everytime, so does mine. Great lighter, maybe I'll send it back to get fixed but it is not a really big deal..hope it helps

The finishes hold up very well! The bad thing about the gloss is fingerprints! LOL!

I can speak for the X-Tend, it's is the best lighter out there IMHO, but I was warned before I got it that the colored finishes will scratch. So I opted for the 'Silver Matte', it's almost a brushed aluminum, and so far ... no scratches!

Same here- seems to increase intensity not size.
I love that little torch!

ST Dupont is a great lighter. But an expensive one at that.

The Blazer is cheap, good and can be used everywhere. I love this lighter. I have two of them. Both in clear and they always work great.

I had an X-tend for two years...I bought it from the Devil Site for about $60. and it worked perfectly until I lost it. That'll teach me to leave my lighter sitting on the bar...

Ok, cool. Thanks for the input. I have a couple of SOLO torch lighters, and went on eBay for the Blazer(after reading all the reviews/comments here).

I've go the matte-black one. No problems here, but I try not to carry it in the same pocket with my keys.

Re: Blazer PB207 / STDupont X-Tend...

You are correct, the size of the flame does not change. The adjustment only changes the amount of fuel pushed into the burner so the intensity increases but not the actual size of the flame.

Re: Blazer PB207 / STDupont X-Tend...

Dupont has consistantly raised their prices over the past few years.

The days of the inexpensive X-Tend are long gone

Dupont X-Tend and Porsche Design are the two best torches out there.
