Cedar Dividers

Hey guys,
I just got my new humidor last week from cheaphumidors.com and I've calibrated the hygrometer, and the humidor is seasoning right now. Anyway, I'm looking for a few more cedar dividers for my humidor but I dont know where to look. I sent viper an e-mail over at heartfelt but I havn't gotten a response. Any ideas as to where I can look?

It is pretty hard to find vertical cedar dividers for humidors since humidors come in so many sizes. Tampahumidor.com sells two dividers in different lengths that are suppose to be for horizontal division. I bought a couple to try out and for my humidor they were just a tad bit to long, need to trim them a little and get another piece of the white spacer material.

I actually contacted the place where I bought my humidor and they were able to get me a couple from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, one of the two was a tad bit too long as well.

On a side note, when I started I tried to separate different brands in my humidors using dividers, however, I soon realized I lost a lot of space trying to do this. So recently, I decided to remove the extra dividers so I could fit more smokes into my humidor. It is not as pretty, but much more efficient. Supposedly, you really don't have to worry about flavors mixing (assuming you are only storing non-flavored cigars).

What he said, If you are only getting them to separate cigars from each other you probably will eventually take them out for the space anyhow. And a side note if you do add in dividers ..there will be a relative humidity drop because the dividers wont be seasoned..no big deal just though you should know, since no doubt you put time getting the thing stable.

Re: Cedar Dividers

Just buy yourself a cigar box for a couple of bucks. Break off the sides and use them as a divider. All you need is a utility knife to cut them to size.

The 8" I ordered from Tampa Humidor arrived today and it fits my desktop perfectly (vertically). On second thought, it could be a little taller, but I'm pretty happy with it.

That is great, mine fits if I remove the white spacer, however, it is no longer stable and likes to fall over. I decided to be a little less anal about organization, so I haven't really needed the ones I bought. I probably just need to sand them down a little and get another piece of the white stuff if I ever want to use them in my humidor.

I am actually going to use them as spacers in a medium sized tupperdor I am putting together. They will help separate my plastic trays and put some spanish cedar in the box. You can find a use for almost anything when it comes to humidors.

Re: Cedar Dividers

I suggest buying a plank of Spanish cedar from an exotic wood store Rockler online has them and cut it down to the size you need also some times they have thin foam on the ends to fit better and that can be purchased at any crafts store for less than a dollar. I did this for my Savoy Humidor because the top tray was taking too much room so I took out the tray sanded the little wedges that supported the tray on the sides and replaced the 2 inch high spacer with the home made 4 inch spacer and it looks great and fits better than the on that came with it.
