Prepping a new 'dor
Up until about 15 minutes ago I had never heard the notion of "prepping" a humidor. Does anyone know the proper steps to take in prepping or know of an easy FAQ online?
Also pros and cons of humi beads vs. 50/50, what do you guys prefer? |

Re: Prepping a new 'dor
1. Use the search function, It is your friend.
2. Buy Beads. No comparison to PG. 3. Just set a shot glass of distilled water in the humi with your humidification device and wait several days until the humidity reaches the desired level then remove the shot glass. Some (impatient people) suggest wipeing down the interior but, depending on the humidor, it may warp (my own experience) so I would avoid doing so. You a Tech student?

Re: Prepping a new 'dor
Beads!!! I put a bowl with distilled water and about double the amount of hydrated beads I needed in my new humidor. I left the bowl in there about two days, and then removed it. Put my cigars in when the RH was a steady 66% two days straight when I opened the lid. Its been dead on ever since!
