Car Ionic Breeze Air Purifier

So here is my issue; I bought a brand new Honda Civic EX in May which I plan to own until it dies. I told myself I would not smoke cigars in it. Part of the reason is it still has that "new car" smell. My commute to work is only about 10 minutes each way, so there is no drive to smoke cigars in it on a regular basis at this time.

I found out recently I will be traveling an hour each way to a clinic every day for four months. I figure that two things would occupy my time most enjoyably 1) smoking cigars and 2)listening to pod casts from our friend Bob and Dale.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Car Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers or if they actually work on keeping the vehicle fresh dispite constant cigar smoking. The interior of my car is cloth so as far as I know it will retain more of scents IMO than leather. Here is the link

Febreeze or Odo-ban and cloths dryer sheets under the seats work very well.

Not sure about the ionic breeze but I bought an ozone air purifier for my car so I could enjoy a cigar every now and then during my long drives. I smoked one and the smell was there for a week or so with the ozone air purifier running all the time. It seemed to linger in the headliner mostly. Febreeze helped to tame the odor.

Maybe the smell is coming from the podcast?

Great choice with the Civic EX...my wife has a year old model and loves it to death, it's smoke free. I can't think of a way to really keep the smell out. I always smoked in my Toyota 4x4 and the smell lingered forever + I burned a hole in the seat one day while traveling down the freeway. Sucker started smoking up between my legs and cost me $$$'s to repair the seat. Now only smoke while driving these days in my old Studebaker pick-up.

I had one of the early models several years ago. But I didn't smoke in the car. I don't think this is going to do the trick for you. There's no fan (they're electrostatic); and they move air more slowly than an Oust -- refreshing it in a small contained environment. So for mid-range to long trips, they're great; the air feels fresher and I noticed less fatigue when I had mine. But cigar smoke is still going to get into every surface of your interior -- particularly the headliner and any fabric seats -- faster than the ionic breeze can remove it from the air. And it won't be powerful enough to pull the odors out afterwards. Remember, these things are tiny; they snap into your car lighter.

Thanks! I am a little worried about dropping my stogie and burning the interior. The more I think about the more I am of the opinion that sacrifices are inevitable in the enjoyment of the leaf.

Thank you for the comment. It sounds logical the difference would be minute. Maybe every little bit helps?

Re: Car Ionic Breeze Air Purifier

sweet deal. I think I'll give it a shot and see what happens! I've still got a few months before the long commutes begin.

Thanks!
