Humi cooling question

Hi to all
I live in Arizona and as you know it is hot as hell here. I have a hard time keeping by house cooled down to 70 degrees let alone my humi.
The question is if I got a small blue ice and put in a small Tupperware container would that solve the problem, I have 65% humi beads. Now I know the blue ice will cause a little condensation but the beads should compensate for this right.

Re: Humi cooling question

If they are not saturated, I would think they should soak up any excess moisture.

Re: Humi cooling question

Try moving your humidor to a closet floor located in the most interior part of the house or in the utility room where your hvac is located as they both tend to be the coolest areas in the house (other than a basement if you have one).

Re: Humi cooling question

Assuming you have a humidor try a cooler big enough to hold it. Then any condensation from the ice pack won't matter. You'll need a few ice packs to cycle through and it isn't an exact science temperature wise but it will work in a pinch. Because your whole humi is sitting inside of the cooler the rh in th cooler itself is of no importance. The Humidor still handles that. Put some blocks of wood or something in the bottom to keep the humidor off of the bottom of the cooler where water will condense. If you like that method there are more permanent, albeit similar methods I use for larger humidors. PM me if you are interested in it.
