Re: Wood Type?
Found it.
http://www.clubstogie.com/photo/show...to/750/cat/520 Gonna see if a cabinet maker friend of mine can build a cabinet humidor out of this wood. Only problem might be $$$$$$$$$.

Could be wrong but I believe it's burl.

Well before you get too excited - Thuya Burl is normally sold in chunks by the pound and not boards. It's also very rare. So while making a small box is possible - you may have to take out a second or third mortgage to have a cabinet humidor built out it. Also - that box is made with an excellent chunk. Not all of it has that tight of a birds eye and/or the red. And I mean that is a tight birds eye - very impressive. But who knows - good luck with it. Ron |

Re: Wood Type?
That looks like Veneer to me.
If you know a reputable cabinetaker, getting burl veneer shouldnt be too much of a problem. The price will be higher than normal because this kind of burl doessnt normally come already glued to a substrate. It comes in sheets about 3/32 thick. |

Re: Wood Type?
You might try and find a synthetic laminate.

Re: Wood Type?
You could try this place, they have some nifty sheeting. I have dealt with them before with paint and other things.
