Re: Getting Close To Finish: My Cabinet Humidor

Had enough emails lately that I thought I'd give an update. Got the new fans in for the hot side of the cooler. They are rated at 236 CFM so they really crank. Noisy? Yes. But not anymore than having to run a window AC unit just for the smokes. Anyway got them installed and did some testing. The room was at about 73 degrees and within an hour it had cooled the cabinet down to 66 degrees. I re-adjusted the thermostat to it's normal on and off positions at that point. By the time I took the picture the cabinet was up to 68 degrees as you can see in the picture here.

Here is a shot of the testing. The glass in inserted in the doors - it's 1/4" thick - but it's not sealed in until I get the finish on. Hence the tape inside of the door. The tape around the outside is cause there is no weather stripping yet. The multi-meter has a sensor connected to the cold side of the coolers so I can monitor the actual cooler surface temps.

And here is a picture of what it looks like when dark with the interior lights on.

Soooo - we are down now to getting the finish on it. In the next few days I will be getting the cabinet ready and turning my little shop into a paint room - installing plastic sheeting and cleanup.

More updates later.

Ron
