Getting Close To Finish: My Cabinet Humidor

Hey All,

As some know I have been building my cabinet humidor for some time now. Guess I started last December/January sometime. Not a whole lot of time to dedicate to working on it - but it looks like I'm coming down the home stretch now!!!! Couple small items to finish up and then the final sanding for the finish.

She has a top drawer for lighters, cutters, etc. Interior LED lights, circulation fans, Peltier coolers and will use the Oasis and beads for RH. Pretty proud of it some far. Below are just a few pictures - if interested you can find the complete pictures from start to current here: Click Here

Anyway - couple of pics - start to current.

The color is not the final - it's just the sanding sealer applied to it.

On Edit: Well crap - meant this post to go in the Lounge cause it's not a question. Radar - maybe you can move it if you think it needs to be.

Ron

Ron,
That is beautiful. I hope to get started on a smaller one as soon as the remodel is done and I can access my shop. What kind of wood did you use and what kind of finish will you use.

Peltier temperature control solution?

Cool - a question -

The Peltiers are being controlled by the Johnson A419. At first I had planed to use a temp microchip - but the company couldn't get it to market for some reason even though they let me order it and all. Pictures of the A419 are in the link.

Thanks! The main body is Walnut and the feet are Maple. I don't have a lathe nor the desire to carve that much so the feet I bought - and they don't come in Walnut. I will be using a spray on laquer finish (hand rubbed) so you won't be able to tell a difference between the two.
As for the color - I will mix my own color - but think along the lines of a dark cherry or red mahogany just enough so the grain still shows.

Very nice work Ron! Sometime soon, I'm planning on building a similar temp control system. I already have an A419, so that was my plan for the thermostat. I'm glad to have someone else blazing the trail for me (i.e. making the costly mistakes to figure this stuff out ). So, did you just connect the AC line of the right side power supply to the switched outlet on the A419? Seems like a very simple, elegant solution for temp control.

Peltier and A419 is the route I'm going as well. Although I don't have the woodworking skills of guys like you and Skip; so I'm likely converting a shallow closet and going with a less elegant through the door solution. I have 12-inch thick concrete and plaster walls and believe this to be my best approach for retaining the cool temperature in the storage space without the peltier units having to work too hard.

Thanks for the pics. Great work.
