Anybody use 65% Climmax beads?
How long should it take for the humidity to drop?
I have currently put about 3/4 lb. of 65% beads in a 120 qt. cooler that was sustaining 70% RH. It's been several days and the humidity still hasn't dropped. I tried running a hair dryer over the beads a little, but that hasn't seemed to have helped. I would appreciate any suggestions from those with experience with these. TIA |

RE: Anybody use 65% Climmax beads?
Hey Bran, I use them in my wine fridge, I can get it down to about 67-68 but not 65 yet, I am using one pound in two separate containers at different levels. I have had them in for about 3 weeks, and don't see any difference from before they were in.

Brandon, if you want the humidity to drop, do NOT wet the beads. They will absorb the extra humidity. Then when you get it to where you want it, then add H2O to keep it that way.

If the beads don't work you can add some pieces of cedar to the cooler and that should lower the humidity.

RE: Anybody use 65% Climmax beads?
Hey Bran, the humidity in my wine cooler has stabilized at 65%, it did take a while, but I have over 40 boxes in there, It has stayed at 65 for a few days, doesn't vary at all. Give it some more time.

Yeah, mine has finally dropped 1%. I went and added some extra silca gel. I guess it's just gonna take a while to draw all the moisture out of the cigars and boxes.

RE: Anybody use 65% Climmax beads?
It'll take some time bran. Matt gave you the best advise, which should work most of the time. I'll just add my 2 cents as this happened to me earlier this year. I took out about half of the 'wet' beads and then added dry to the mix a little bit each day to correct the situation. It took about two weeks to get it under control (to 65/66%).
