regular Humidifier

Can you use a standard regular room/home style humidifer to humidfy a large cabinet humidor? (the cold air kind)

I have been told they don't keep humidity accurate enough and vary by 5-7% where one designed for cigars vary by 2-3%.

I would think that if you were to use it, and had a digital hygrometer, that you would be able to regulate the system for the humidor. I guess it depends on how much of a risk you're willing to take. The way i would do it, if you buy the system, is place it the humidor for awhile, monitor the hygrometer, and if it stays steady, it's doing its job. Once, again, it depends on how much risk you want to take.
