bead reccomendation

Hello I currently live in Las Vegas (hot and dry), I have just purchased a new humi and would like to get the beads ordered. I am just not sure which humidity level would be right for my neck of the wood ( or barren land)

Re: bead reccomendation

Viva Las Vegas!

I believe I can speak for quite a few of us in saying that the other 95% of us only visit Vegas, so take this with a grain of salt, and perhaps the Vegas veterans can chime in and help here.

I would not worry so much with the climate as much as what your personal preferences are. 65 - 70% RH is generally the average for 95% of us, and as long as you are keeping it in that type of environment as long as possible before lighting up in Vegas, you should be fine. Yes, I've had the horror of the dry climate unravel my fine smoke whilst in the middle of enjoying it, but it is rare.

Just to throw another two cents out there, I purchased The Puck from Mark at Cigarmony.com and it has kept the most consistent RH I've ever had with anything else.

Re: bead reccomendation

As a fellow Nevada resident that deals with the same humidity levels it is really more improtant that you pick the rh that you like your cigars at. Any bead rh will do a good job of keeping the rh in your humidor where you want it. So chose the rh by your smoking preference, don't worry about the climate.

Most select the 65% I would say - it's what I went with also.

Re: bead reccomendation

Nice to see another Vegas resident here. I am using 65% beads i ordered from Heartfelt and everything is hunky-dorey in my humi. I have a 300 capacity and it took a lil bit to get everything set up correctly but now my hygro is dead on at 66%. Have you been in town long? Let me know if i can be of any help with the locations of things...
