Xikar Genesis Lighter problem

Hey Guys, got this lighter a week or two ago and the store I bought it from filled it before I left. I picked up a can of 3X Refined butane for refills and refilled it last night.

Tonight, I lit up my cigar and in between toastings, when I extinguished the flame, I heard a hissing noise that lasted about 15-20 seconds. Sure enough, when I went to correct a burn problem about 15 minutes later, it was empty.

Ive only used Zippos prior to getting this torch and Im wondering If im missing something here, or did the the refill wrong. Im pretty sure I followed the directions to a t. Any ideas? Similar experiences? Did I get a lemon? Good thing Xikar has that warranty if I did.

Try to fill it again and see what happens. You can't be too careful if you have a butane leak.

Purge it and then blow out the top with compressed air that may do the trick, I had the same problem and it was a peice of dirt or lint.

I have the lighter and it did that a few times when I first bought it. I thought about sending it back. However, over the past couple of weeks it has held its butane and is working great, now as for my Colibri, that cant be said.

Try the advice, if it don't work return it and get a PB-207 in a group buy for $22....no issues....best lighter I have ever had.

If they don't help, then listen to JPH. The Blazer PB-207 is a great torch! (I am not sure about the Prince 207 version though as I have never used them).
