What do you think of this humi?

I am looking at this humidor currently :http://cgi.ebay.com/150-ct-RED-WOOD-...QQcmdZViewItem and am wondering if its an ok deal? I am not going to have more than 75 cigars on hand right now as I am a semi poor college student lol. Is the quality ok? I really really like the look but I want to buy something quality that will last me a little while.

Thanks!
Justin

Re: What do you think of this humi?

It looks nice to me. As long as they guarantee a tight seal so you don't lose humidity and they guarantee SPANISH cedar. They say 100% cedar but who knows what type?

Also remember that the shipping is close to $30. I think there may be some better deals out there. If they product is crap an you return you lose more than half the cost to shipping.

Never trust an analog hygrometer. I have a few that are way off and get worse every year I own them.

Try bargain humidors. Good prices, fair shipping. You can get a very nice 150 count (closer to 100) with a top of the line digital hygrometer for 75.

Re: What do you think of this humi?

I got this one. So some things about it. It isn't 100% Spanish Cedar. It doesn't hold even close to 150...try half that. Plexi Glass is just that..not real glass.

But overall...it isn't a bad deal. It actually holds humidity quite well (I use beads in it).

I quickly outgrew it and now have a vicksburg on the way

I "won" this exact humidor on ebay 1 month ago for just under $35 shipped. It is my first humidor. The built in hygrometer was completely useless, it was off by well over 20%. Still reads in the 40% humidity range.

I went and bought a radio shack remote hygrometer set up to be safe.

I opened up and removed the green foam from the included humidifier. It has a screen on the slotted side of it so I filled it with beads I am using 65% heartfelt beads.

The top tray can easily be double stacked.

For $35 I couldn't be happier.

Two good calls...most analog hygrometers are worthless, the digital one is a necessity...and the beads are the chit.

Re: What do you think of this humi?

Yea I have the same one. Mine had a really bad smell in it and the only way to get rid of it was to completely reline is with spanish cedar. I also turned it one it's side and now it hold a little of over 200 after my mods. I got pics if you wanna see em.

I've heard the same thing abot Best Buy Gadgets or whatever... they are supposedly crap quality and not spanish cedar. There is another company on there that sells the same crap as them.

I've heard tampa humidor is a good ebay seller for humi's, but no fhe.

I got this one, but not with buy it now a couple months ago. I got it for $40 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-100ct-Cigar-...QQcmdZViewItem

This guy sells some other ones also. It's actually a pretty nice one IMO, in fact, I think it's on pay with most of the cheaper (read $75-$150) ones in my B+M. I can't say it's as nice as the $300+ ones in the B+M, but it holds rH pretty well and I think the seal is good. I use beads with it, and I need a digital hydrometer, as it only comes with analog.

Edit... Oh, and it'll hold close to 100. It's actually a 100-125 count, and I have about 45 bigger cigars in there and it's about half full (humis are never half empty ). Honestly though, I think most people will fit between 80 and 110 cigars in here no problem.
