Humidor

I have a couple humidors I'm looking at on ebay right now.

they both end in the next hour.

50 count - Bid @ $7 right now. Ends in about an hour.

150 count - Bid @ 20.50 right now. Ends in about an hour.

Recommendations? I need a humidor fast, but I also plan on buying some humidification beads. I'm not gonna need the 150 size until probably sometime later next year as money is getting tight for Christmas, but I need something to keep another box of sticks being delivered. What do you think?

I can PM links if you need them to give me better advice.

Thank you all in advance.

Re: Humidor

Who are the sellers? If they are this cheap they are probally the fakes. They probally do not have a spanish cedar lining.

Re: Humidor

I can only say if both are built internally the same with real spanish cedar lining, the real difference here is in the glass or wood top. Having glass is nice as you can put a digital hygro inside and check it without opening the top. The all wood is nice as its more surface area to help keep the RH stable. Thats just my The rest is cosmetic and personal finances.

Good luck on your bidding.

Re: Humidor

The larger the better. Take whatever count they tell you and divide by two. So the 50ct is really a 25ct and the 150ct is really a 75ct. It's a good rule of thumb.

I know this is probably late, but go with the bigger one. You'll have no trouble filling it, I'm sure.

Re: Humidor

usually these things have a small price that you buy it for but then shipping is 35 bucks. Buyer beware. You could try www.cheaphumidors.com for a quality box.

Re: Humidor

I don't think I could pull the plug on an ebay Humidor unless they happened to be a cigar retailer. If you don't have to have something aesthetically pleasing, you could always go the tupperdor route. When I first started smoking, I kept everything in coolers and tupperware, and I would still go back to it if I needed to.

Re: Humidor

A number of the Ebay humis are made of maple. The shelf is cedar, but I am not sure about the lining.

Beware of the shipping charges as well. This is where many a dishonest seller makes their money. You get a great deal on an item for a few dollars and then pay 10 times over the actual cost of shipping.

I have been buying and selling on Ebay for over 10 years. The shipping scam is the most common one you will find. Some sellers do this to avoid paying higher listing fees while still making a profit hidden in the outrageous shipping charges.

Cheaphumidors is a good place to look as is the scratch and dent section of Holts. I got a nice 100 count humidor from Holts for $15 in their dent and ding section. The finish has some hazing, but for 15 bucks I really don't care.

my vote is to contact Mark at www.cigarmony.com and see what he has. He will certainly stand behind his stuff.

Re: Humidor

those look like some of the ones sold by robusto humidors on ebay. let me tell ya, if you get one of those (even though the shipping is a little high) they're a quite nice humidor for that price. no they're not all spanish cedar, but they are usually pretty decent.

I bought one recently that i purchased for a couple bux plus shipping, ended up costing me less than 25 bux total. no it's not the best humidor out there, but it holds humidity perfectly since i've had it, and it looks nice too.

the only downside is that those "clear-top" ones are not glass-tops, they're acrylic. if that's the case, you're better off with one that's just got a solid top.

good luck, but make sure you're buying from someone with a good ebay reputation.

Re: Humidor

It seems a little "too good" to have a 150 ct. for only $20. But hey, if that's what it is... go for it!

Re: Humidor

My gut tells me that those you just showed us are F A K E ! They even look cheap as hell, but thatīs just me. I would gladly pay up for some quality instead.

Try Cigarmoney, Cheap Humidors or Cuban Crafters they all seem very good, where Cuban Crafters is where I bought mine.
