How to Dry HeartFelt Beads

Ok so I got my new Vicksburg in and I seasoned it and put in close to half a pound of beads in. 3 and a half ounces in the bottom and two two ounce tubes up top- but I overfilled the tubes and I can't get the vicksburg rh to drop from 68 percent and that is without the tubes in. So right now I have only 3.5 ounces of beads in there and it's holding rock solid at 68%.

I am trying to dry out the tubes but they've been out of the humi for a day now with no change and I'm pretty sure the RH in my room is lower than 65%. Any tips on how to dry them quicker? Should I put them in a dry paper bag or something or a cardboard cigar box and hope that the cardboard or paper trys soaking the humidity? Will that work? Other tips?

Re: How to Dry HeartFelt Beads

I've dried them before by putting them in a bowl, bag or box will do, and used a hair dryer set to low. Be careful cause they tend to "fly around". They turn white (dry) fairly quick.
Hope this helps.

Ive also heard of spreading them out on a cookie sheet and baking them at 100 degrees for a few minutes.

Re: How to Dry HeartFelt Beads

if you put a thin piece of cloth and warm it with a hair dryer quite warm, and put the beads on that, would that work?

just a little idea i had

Re: How to Dry HeartFelt Beads

The easiest method I've used is to put the beads in a stocking and tie a knot in the end (or use a mesh bag from Heartfelt). Then you can use the hairdryer without the beads flying around.

Hope no one took that literally.

"Beads in stocking"...smacking the palm of my hand on forehead as we speak.
Good idea!

Re: How to Dry HeartFelt Beads

Thanks guys- I just stuck them in a paper sack and held the "barrel" of the hair dryer at the beads- dried most of them pretty well. Now they are soaking up moisture from the Humi- thanks!

Re: How to Dry HeartFelt Beads

make sure you leave around 30% wet, or if theres a big drop in humidity you won't be able to get it back up

Good to hear humidity is going down

enjoy the vicksburg dude, looks awesome
