Prince PB-207 Torch and Vector Butane

I have a question for anyone who has one of these lighters and uses Vector butane. I was wondering if you use any of the little red attachments to re-fill this lighter?

It seems whenever I try to refill this lighter (or any lighter) I end up spraying butane all over the place. I am currently using the little red attachment that says #3, however, it is difficult to fully slide this attachment onto the butane head on the bottle without spraying a little bit of fluid. Then when I fill the lighter, it seems more fluid goes into the air than it does into the lighter.

Also, how full does this lighter normally get after filling. If I turn it upside down, the entire clear part (I have a black one) is empty, is this normal? When I hold it right side up, the entire bottom portion is full.

Sorry if this question has already been asked, if so, can someone point me to the correct thread?

thanks in advance.

Yes I do use the red attachment.

You have to or the fluid goes all over the place.

As for the upside down part. This lighter is like a cylinder covered by the color. Just empty it, bleed it and fill it. But use the red attachment or fluid will be all over the place.

I filled mine up a few weeks ago, when I got it new, and I did not use the red attachments. The fluid did spray "all over the place". The problem I have now is which red attachment to try...there a five?

Guess I'll have to play the "Russian Roulette" game and see which works the best.

Use the one that fits perfectly in the fluid hole.

Re: Prince PB-207 Torch and Vector Butane

I've never used the red attachments and never had a problem with the PB-207 and Vector butane. It fills up (maybe 1/8th of an inch left empty at the top), has just a little overspray when it's full, and that's it.

Thanks for all the help.

They have a number on them, do you use number 3?

I guess I must be doing something wrong. I use the red attachment and it fills for a little bit and then I cover myself in butane. I don't think I am filling it all the way. It is good enough for now, I would just prefer to know how to fill it correctly so I can avoid covering myself in butane in the future.

Re: Prince PB-207 Torch and Vector Butane

I had the same problem. I found that if I got real close to the nozzle and breathed deeply as I filled the lighter, I still got the over spray but I just didn't care as much.

Seriously, I was having the same problem refilling my PB-207, only more twisted. My little red nipple (I just like saying that) that fit the lighter apparently had a small crack in it so I was beginning to wonder if any nozzle would work or if I would be resigned to losing about three-quarters of the butane while refilling it. I tried with the little red nipple (there it is again!) from another can of butane and got much, much better results. I had kind of gotten used to my Blazer which requires no little red nipple at all. (I don't know exactly how I am going to work the word Blazer and the phrase "little red nipple" into a pointless joke, but I'm sure there is one there somewhere. I mean, heck, I managed to get the word twisted near "little red nipple" a few sentences ago: what more can I do? )

But to recap the actual useful input here: try another fitting on the end of the butane can, one should work. It usually isn't an issue on the first fill, but when you are refilling an already pressurized reservoir, you have to have the tight seal of the correct adapter size.

Same here. No attachment. Fills great and only a little overspray at the end. Maybe I'm doing something wrong ...

I never had a problem without an attachment. Almost all lighters give some spray back when they're full.

I did as well, but it was from the first group buy in the last month or two.

Re: Prince PB-207 Torch and Vector Butane

I only ask because I did, too. I was wondering if there might have been some minor variation between production runs that might result in some folks not having a lot of trouble using their butane cans to refill without an adapter while some folks appear to benefit from them.

I have zero blowback using a nipple while I get loads without it. Then again there may be some technique that some of us might be missing. As an example, I stopped trying to "top it off" and only refill it when it is down to about a third or less.

By the way, I just love this lighter. I don't even use my Blazer much anymore.
