Who is the Champoin Cutter?

Okay, I've been hanging in the wings and reading posts on Palio cutters, Xikars, etc. I wanted to poll to see which is the champoin cutter, but I'm also adding in my old tried and true, never let me down DAVIDOFF guillotine cutter. had it since the beginning and it's still as true a cut today as it was in '93 when I bought it. Tell me what you guys think. HOLLA BACK!!!!

Grinch OUT!!!

For looks it's XiKar - but since this is a cutting contest - Palio hands down.

Re: Who is the Champoin Cutter?

See, I've always heard great things about Palio, but I like the Guillotine type action of the Xikar. I did use a bro's Palio, which has an excellent cut, but personally I like the Xikar. I guess if I used a Palio on a regular basis, I might feel differently.

Re: Who is the Champoin Cutter?

I use to prefer the two blade guillotine style.

The Xikar cutter is a very cool idea, it's the Switchblade of cutters. The one I have sticks most of the time making it more of a pain to use then it's worth. Anyone else have this problem?

Right now the cutter I reach for first is the 3 blade scissor from Cuban Crafters. Had it in my carry-on going to Vegas last week and back monday security never questioned it.

Re: Who is the Champoin Cutter?

Had them all, plus the Havana Cutter. The Palio is, for my money, the best cutter available.

I have the Xikar Xi3 Cutter - Tech. Zero problems with it and use it daily. It stays in my truck all the time and I use the Palio in the house.

I do clean mine though - try taking some compressed air hitting all the joints real good and see if that helps.

For the price, I just love the havana cutter, I only wish it cut larger RG cigars. Best single blade cutter - period. Although, it doesn't work as well on box-pressed stogies.

Re: Who is the Champoin Cutter?

You know, I picked up a Palio and am not impressed with it. The Havana Cutter does a much better job than my Palio; heck, even my cheap Clip-It cutter does atleast as well as my Palio.

Re: Who is the Champoin Cutter?

For the price, the Havana cutters can not be beat. However, they will get dull, and rather quickly if you smoke a lot. One of the features of the Palio, which I do not think even the Xikar offers is that it will never go dull. Palio offers a lifetime replacement on it's cutter.
