Is it ok to use humidifying solution on the humidifier if i can't get hold of distilled water?

also, is it REALLY needed to wipe down the inside with a damp cloth? I really don't want to risk damaging the wood inside

cheers guys

Wiping it down with a wet cloth (distilled water) is a must to prep the humidor. Here is a faq that will help:

I think it would be much cheaper to have someone buy it in the USA and then ship it to you. The prices on humidors etc in the UK are silly. For what you can get for $100 USD here is like spending $300USD over there! Just my .02
i agree

If you don't want to pay for shipping and money conversion, then go for it... otherwise, you could do better on CigarBid!

I worked in the water business for a few years, don't worry about distilled water.
Go to your local convenience store and buy any small bottle of water for drinking. If the label says "contains water purified by reverse osmosis" or something like that, you are using water better than distilled.

I had the same problem looking for distilled as you.
i went to halfords and all they had was deionised. However we asked if they had distilled and the guy said the deionised is distilled aswell, it just doesnt say it on the bottle.

also boots do distilled water in 5 litre bottles.

and look in your yellow pages for model shops, alot do distilled
