Large gauge cutter

Orderd a couple bundles of Flor de Oliva Super giant cigars 10 x 66. Start thinking this morning I may not have a cutter up to the task of clipping the cap from these monsters.

As fate would have it, the Cuban Crafters 3 blade scissor at 7/8" is the largest gauge cutter I have. Not nearly enough for this 1 1/32" diameter behemoth.

Been smoking long enough can use my thumbnail to pinch, bite or use a blade to take the cap off, yet with 16 of these in the humidor set aside for smoking with special friends, a monster cutter would be more to my liking.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a cutter competent of decapitating such a cigar?

Re: Large gauge cutter

Since anything that big is effectively a dildo anyway, why don't you find a Jewish Rabbi and see if he will sell you his circumcision scissors.

For one, the tool used to circumsize would remove the last inch or so of wrapper not the cap...

Secondly, 1 1/32" is kind of small...

Re: Large gauge cutter

Try using a punch cutter a few times to make a LARGE punch in the back. I've done it before. Just make a hole in the center, then widen the diameter by using the punch.

It's a pain, but effective and makes clean "cuts"

Re: Large gauge cutter

I dont know of a cutter that will do that for you, but im sure they are available.

In the meantime you could always use a razor blade to slice away the cap.

Re: Large gauge cutter

I spent some time last night going through all of the vendors that I have in my bookmarks and did not see any that would cut a cigar that large. Maybe a cigar knife?

Re: Large gauge cutter

I'd really like to try one. I have a bundle of toro and it's a good go to for the yard. Tasty.

A sharp knife does seem the best bet, just wanted to see if anyone had come across a cutter big enough.

How long does it take to somke one of these?

It may be a while before I burn one,
