How long can I keep cigars at 65 RH

I keep my humidors at 67 RH and I found my last 2 smokes to have 'crunchy' wrappers. The bindrer and filler wre OK, my Ashton VSG was 5 month old and Ashton cabinet was 7 months. Both hygrometers in the humidor were just salt tested not lomg ago and were fine. I ordered 65% bead from viper should I be worried about my cigars future? How long can I keep my cigars at 65%.

65% and they should be just fine. What size humidor do you have - and are there any drawers in it.

I keep my aging cabinet at 65% and have had nothing but great results. So I guess the answer is forever.

That being said, I move any non ISOM cigars to a humidor at 68-69% for a week or two before I smoke them.

They're the 'Biltmore' from Diomond Crown built by Reed and Barton, they're advertised to be 100 count. I am going to be starting up a 5 drawer humidor when my beads [65%] arive this week from viper139.

If you don't have beads in there right now, it could be that your hygro is off. My suggestion is to get beads for all humi's and you can store cigars at 65 for as long as you want.

65 is fine and you may not actually be at 65??? If the wrappers are brittle, just raise the RH until they are not. Remember the "R" in "RH" is for Relative...

Does anyone recommend how much to use on a 50 count? I have one question that I did not find in a search. How precise do you have to be on the amount used? Could I put 1/4 lb in a smaller reed and barton or would that be too much?

Don't need to be precise on beads. I like using more than you need. I find that I need to recharge them less often that way. But if you want to be precise, Viper has a calculation on his website.

I probably am not the first, but I try to not repeat questions by using the search engine. Sometimes though when I can't find by search I will ask again. I thank all who take the time to repeat info already posted. I have received all kinds of information. The beads are new to me, so I will try and extract all the knowhow I can.

Re: How long can I keep cigars at 65 RH

Also the BIG question is how did they smoke? I notice that mine at 65 definitely feel harder (crunchier) to the touch. But I'll be the first to admit that they smoke OH SO GOOD at that rh. Many say there are some cigars that do better at 70 but for that minority I'll just have to suck it up. And by smoke well I mean by and large the draw is great, the burn is consistent and even, and there are few problems where the cigars go out....

So even if they may feel crunchy to you if they are burning well.... 65 is the way to go for you.
