S.T. Dupont authenticity PT.2 w/ Pics! (56k warning)

First let me say please dont kill me for starting a whole new thread, i just figured a new one would attract more attention.

So heres the deal, i made this thread a WHILE back about this Dupont lighter i had the opportunity to buy for a really decent price, but could not 110% guarantee it was real only because the lighter came in second hand to the shop in a trade. I believe its real, only because from my experience with dupont lighters, there are certain things that stand out to me that i have noticed are not so on the fakes i have seen.

Now, i couldnt stand it anymore, and had to buy it today. i've been using it all day, and it definitely works perfectly.

buuuut, i have some pictures now, and i will admit i am the worst photographer in chicago, but hopefully, someone out there will get an idea from these pics.

again, please guys, any input is VERY much appreciated and will be well taken.

It certainly looks good, I dont recall seeing thoses small stampings on the top with fakes. But I could be wrong...

If that is a fake, that is one heck of a fake. The lighter looks like a real one to my untrained eye.

Hey guys,

Just a small update in case anyone gave a damn, i sent in the lighter to Dupont to get authenticated/have the flame adjust replaced (the handle was loose).

They called me yesterday to inform me that the handle was replaced and i needed to pay $23 + s/h. And i was like, well hold on a second, i asked them to authenticate it before they did any work. she's like "well sir, if the lighter was fake, we would have called you immediately and told you so and then shipped it right back to you."

At this point i had to hold in my excitement, and i said "oh is that right?", she said "oh yes, we get LOTS of fakes, and sometimes VERY unhappy people when we have to tell them so."

Then she looked up the notes in the computer, and i guess the tech wrote "yes its authentic".

I happily paid my 35 dollars, and was told to call back friday for a tracking #.

as soon as i clicked off my phone i was so excited, i almost elbowed my girlfriend from the big "YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!" i did!

You have to understand, stuff like this doesnt happen to me. i dont get STEALS. i mean, i get hooked up at places becuase when i know people there. but getting a $1000 ANYTHING for $100, thats pretty damn cool.

Glad i went with my gut instinct on this one!

It has the cigar burner already actually. thats what made me feel that it was the real deal in the beginning, never seen a fake with a cigar burner!
