How Often
Tried searching but came up empty.
How often do you guys need to refill your beads? Do the beads have an even humidity release throughout a cycle? I have a humidor that calculates out to needing 1/4lb of beads, currently I have 1/2lb. When I fill/charge them I spray until they are 80% clear or so (or even a little more). Generally within a few days I can see more and more white, by day 7 it seems they are 50% white and my humidity level is dropping. I dont think its a leak or seal issue because when using the original foam credo units I did not have to charge for many weeks. (I just had no ability to bring down the humidity when needed with the foam units) Thanks Jason |

Re: How Often
From one young ape to another, grain of sand thing...
I purchased a pound of beads from Viper about a month ago. I charged them up one time (about 60 - 70% clear) with a spray bottle. I separated the pound between my work and home humis, and in the first week or so, they seem to have a hard time stabilizing (63 - 70%). I thought at first maybe I had put too much distilled water on them. It has seemed that after about a month, I'm now holding 68 - 70% almost perfectly. It is strange, because the beads look like they could use a slight recharging, but I'm of the thought that the humidity level will tell me when it's time to recharge. Hope this helps. - Garilla

Re: How Often
2, sometimes 3 times a day
The beads. Depends how often I am opening up the cooler. Every 6-8 weeks seems to be the norm.

Re: How Often
Wow thanks for the quick responses!
I am fairly sure that the seal it tight, the foam units seem to hold moisture forever. I have decided to just let the beads ride for a while, while they are looking white enough to charge the humidity has been at 67% (70 beads, calibrated hygrometers) for a few days. I guess its possible it will remain this way for weeks if i dont panic and spray them down again. I will just let them go for a bit, as long as the humidity does not drop too much. Thanks Jason |

Re: How Often
I used a tube of Viper beads in my little desktop Humi and I was spraying those puppies every week or two. I then went the coolidor route w/ a 54 Qt Coleman Steel Belted Cooler and 1/2 lbs of beads. The cooler stays at a rock solid 65% RH and I spray the beads down every two to three months. I gave up on the desktop unit and just keep my singles in a tray in the cooler.

Re: How Often
I have customers that have to re-hydrate their beads every week or so and some who go 2-3 months without needing to be messed with. The seal on the humidor is very important as well as the number of times you go in the humidor. Remember each time you open the lid you lose some of the moisture. I guess what i am saying is it is doifferent for everyone, so patience is the key here. Give it some time and you will get the hang of how often you need to re-hydrate.
