Sharpen a palio?

I got my palio in a group buy here and it is not cutting as well as some of the cheaper cutters I have. This seems to be contrary to almost every one else's experience. I was wondering if there is any way to sharpen these or have them sharpened?

Re: Sharpen a palio?

Check on Palio's website. I think there is a warranty regarding sharpness, pretty good if I do remember.

Check it out: Warranty info

You can take it to any authorized Palio vendor to exchange it if you think that it is not working properly.

Here is a list in NJ:

Hope this helps bro

RH is stable at 67-68 with salt tested hygrometer in a 65 degree wine cooler.

It cuts, but not as cleanly as a cheap 2 bladed cutter I have. It tears a little and leaves some tobacco bulging from the center. Same across a variety of cigars with differrent wrappers. Everybody here loves these so I think maybe mine is just a little dull.

Re: Sharpen a palio?

it sounds more than just being dull... i think they are suppose to sharpen themselves when you open/close them

Exact same problem I have with my Palio, I figure I got a bad one or something and am going to have them check it when I'm at a reseller next week.

I am having the same thing happen when I use mine too and was thinking about trying to get mine sharpened as well.

I think I'll try to find a vendor too.

Thanks for the post and info.

Interesting-- Maybe they are mis-aligned or something.

It could be just that it's a new cutter & you need a little time to get used to using it
what you discribe happens to me every now & again.. usually when I rush the cut

Re: Sharpen a palio?

I just checked the dealer list and there is only 1 in Washington State which would make it a 3-4 hour round trip for me

I have tried cutting at different speeds and varied the amount that I take off but get the same results everytime.

I guess, but I'm pretty careful about how I cut. I also have varied the speed and pressure used in a attempt to get clean cut. Based on the positive experience that everyone has with these I thought it would work at least as well as my 4 dollar guillotine cutter.
