Storage question from newbie

Hello to all. First of all, thank you for all the advice you give. This forum is one of the most inviting I've ever seen. You are all real class acts.

I've got a question about cigar storage inside a thermoelectric wine cooler. I apologize if this has already been answered. I searched but didn't come up with anything. Anyway, here's my issue. I have purchased a bunch of 5 packs from cbid to try out a lot of different brands (I'm pretty new to cigars). Now, I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to store them. I've currently got them in a large capacity humi with the cello still on, but I've heard a lot about flavors mingling when cigars are stored together. I've come up with a few options. Please let me know which ones look the best or if there is something I totally missed. OK, here are my ideas (LOOK OUT!)

1) Trays and dividers - This looks to be the method of choice for a lot of you, but I am wondering if flavors still can mingle since the cigars aren't sealed away from each other.

2) Small humidors inside the cooler - A local store has 15 ct. humidors lined on the inside with Sp. cedar for $10. I thought I could get a bunch of these and use them to store the cigars totally separately. If I did this, could I just keep the humidity in the cooler where it needs to be, or would I have to control the humidity in each individual little humidor? I didn't know if the humidors' humidity would stabilize if they were kept in a humidity-controlled cooler. This idea might be complete overkill...

3) Buy extra cigar boxes from a local store - This is the cheapest way, but I didn't know if the boxes might keep aromas from their former contents and totally defeat my purpose for buying them.

OK, there you have it. Any opinions will be most appreciated. Take care!

I don't think that the flavor profiles of one cigar will noticably blend with the flavors of another during storage in the short term. Over a longer time period, many years, cigars may blend flavors a bit. IMO, you will have no problems storing different brands together.
I would not advise storing flavored cigars with non-flavored ones though.
Cedar trays and sleeves are nice for organization of singles.

I wouldn't worry about mingling of flavors unless you were storing them for a very long time.

Throw them all in, smoke 'em, and enjoy

Definitely don't let a flavored cigar come near the others, though..

I figured I was probably stressing over nothing. Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease.

If I did decide to put a few singles up for a long time but didn't have their original boxes, what would be the best way to store them?

If you wanted to store singles for long term say 5+ years you may want to invest in some tubes. They come in metal or plastic. If you wanted to go the inexpensive route, just use ziplock baggies.

Many vendors sell tubes:

Re: Storage question from newbie

Don't worry about the flavors blending (DO NOT put flavored cigars in with your regular stash though! ie Acids, etc)

If the cooler is properly humidified, the individual humidors should even out assuming you leave them cracked! If the seal is good, no humidity should get in or out if they are closed.

Hope this helps
