humidity question about Aristocrat Mini

I am leaning towards ordering the Aristocrat Mini cab but I'm worried about the humidity levels dropping too low everytime I open the door. I wrote Bob and asked him how much to add an exterior drawer but it was cost prohibitive. Am I worried over nothing? Do any of you have problems with humidity in your cabs. Thank you for your time.

Re: humidity question about Aristocrat Mini

I have a Mini-DX (w/exterior drawer) and it is as stable as can be. You didn't mention what humidification system you would be using. The "Set and Forget" he offers is more than up to the task.
The wood and cigars (and cigar boxes) hold the moisture too, so there is no need to worry about letting the moist air out when you go to retrieve a stick. If the humidor stays open for an extended period of time there may be cause for concern, but I open mine frequently and the system doesn't need to run that hard to keep up. As with any kind of cabinet I would recommend an active humidification system Cigar Oasis, Set and Forget, etc.). Maintaining beads alone in that big of a humi would be quite a pain (but not impossible).
I don't regret anything about what I got on my cabinet, but I am running out of room FAST! Anything larger had a very low wife acceptance factor though.
You won't be sorry with anything from Bob

Good luck

I have the M+ from Bob.

When I open the door the humidity drops a few but then the set and forget system kicks in and its back to 65% in about 10 minutes.

I wouldn't worry about this problem, because there is no problem.

I have the Mini. It may drop a bit in humidity when you have the door open, but the set and forget gets it right back to the proper setting. No worries.

Re: humidity question about Aristocrat Mini

I will be using about a pound of beads and a Cigar Oasis so I guess I will be OK. Now to order it.
