How often do you refill your humidification device?

I have a treasure dome humi, I've had it for about 6months and I have never had to refill any humidification device, infact, I don't even have one in there, just 2 hygrometers that has read 70% RH since I put my sticks in after seasoning it.

    Just wondering

That depends on too many factors to give a one size fits all answer. If you live in an area with 70% RH and you buy sticks that are not too dry, you will never need to fill, nor will you need a humidification device. On the other hand, if you live in a dry area and your humidor is not 100% air tight, you could end up filling every day.

I believe you live in Hawaii and that could be why your humidity stays steady at 70%. I believe that in South Florida there are times of the year where a humi is not actually needed.

I fill mine once a month.

There are to many factors to give an exact time frame (ambient humidity where you live, seal on the humi, type of humidification device, etc.), but 6 months doesn't seem right. are you sure of your hygrometer?

Many people I know in the northern states fill their sponges twice a month. I supplement them with humidi packs, and can stretch it out to a month. With my cabinet humi, it's reservoir is big enough to go a couple of months.

If you move to Nevada you will learn quickly where the distilled water is in the grocery store. A wet day here is 30% rh.

I check mine about Once a month as well and add if needed. Usually not to much added. Nice living here in Florida.

My Accumonitor in my Avallo has (4) units that require distilled water. Usually have to refill every couple of months or so but always check to make sure they're okay.

Good responses. Yeah taking factors into account is important. 6 mos and 70% RH? Impressive. As one BOTL said, maybe you live in Hawaii? I've over in New England and have finding I'm refilling quite often now that it's winter even with Beads. Probably refilling once a week to keep 'em at 65% RH. Air here is very dry though esp. indoors with heating. I also have an air humidifier in my room to try to help things.
