Reliable Torch Lighter

I had enough of my el cheapo $5 torch lighters. Both are dead after two weeks. I decided to invest in a reliable one, probably something under $100.

I heard the PB-207 is a favorite here in the jungle. Can anyone tell me which online store has the best price? Is there any other brand/model I should look into. Thanks in advance.

Great prices, great service, and run by a BOTL on the board.

Spend a little extra and get the Dupont Xtend. You will be very glad you did.

Re: Reliable Torch Lighter

After going through several cheapos, and one not-so-cheapo, I bought a PB-207 Blazer. I got mine from a tool vendor on Ebay for about $36.50 total....(before I knew about Cigarmony)...I'm kind of a gear-head, so I like the industrial look of it.

They also make a "CR" version, that's "child-resistant"...I've heard mixed reviews on that model, but personally didn't want it.

Good luck, whatever you decide!

Re: Reliable Torch Lighter

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Now, I am leaning toward the Dupont X-Tend. The PB-207 is cheaper, but can't win against the X-Tend in look and size. I like a lighter that's slim and can fit nicely in my pant's pocket. Let me sleep on it before I pull the trigger. I don't think my wife will be thrilled looking at my credit card statement next month.

The Xtend is the way to go. Be sure and pick you up a case on Ebay for it to keep it from getting scratched. Search for "Dupont lighter case".

Re: Reliable Torch Lighter

If you like the price of PB-207 and the looks of Xtend, why not think about getting Xikar Executive. It's a nice 21 dollar torch with something similar to its looks when compared to Xtend. Executive is my current torch and has worked decently (I've owned it about a year now, the black version, and the good is that it's stylish and lights up the cigars very good, and the bad is that it scratches, it doesn't take much butane in and I've had to jiggle the ignition thingy with a mini screwdriver to get it back to its correct position).

From what I hear Executive is quite reliable but not as much as PB-207 and Xtend. To be honest with you, I myself am getting a matte black Xtend this spring and probably retire my Executive. It has served my pretty well, it looks kinda cool and the price isn't bad, but I just want a torch that has even more quality.

If you want a great torch buy the Xtend, but if you don't necessarily want to spend over 100 dollars on a torch I'd consider Xikar Executive.

Re: Reliable Torch Lighter

I've had nothing but problems with expensive lighters. I swear by my Blazer PB-207.

Re: Reliable Torch Lighter

You can't go wrong with the X-Tend or blazer pb-107 (I've got both, never had a problem), but check out the blazer CG-001 if you want to spend less then the X-Tend and want something a little less industrial looking then the pb-107

Do you think there would be enough interest to warrant another group buy? I wouldn't mind having another one, my son is expressing an unhealthy interest in mine...and you know what that means...
