Diamond Crown Elite

Looking for a good desk top humidor. Have read lots of good things on the Diamond Crown series but I am confused by the Elite model.

It is 140 count comes with a nice set of goodies but is cheaper then the other models with smaller cigar capacity. I am new to this hobby so I am asking if my elder gorilla's can help me figure this one out. I don't read about trays on the elite but are they worth that much more?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Diamond Crown Elite

I have a Diamond Crown Humidor and it works great. The humidors are made by REED & BARTON. The have a neat way of making the Box. They complete the box and then cut the lid off the box so you know it's a perfect fit. With a lot lower end humidors bottom and top are made seperately and don't fit as tightly as the Diamond Crown does. With that said the humidification system they use is a hunk of junk. I've had 2 of them and they worked for 3 or 4 months and then they start leaking and the water pours out of them. Do yourself a favor and get beads they work great. I don't know how well the the Diamond Crown Hygrometer works, I've never had one. I got my Diamond Crown humidor from Regencycigar.com. They have very good prices on the Diamond Crown Humidors, Elite goes for 230.00. Happy Humidor hunting.

Re: Diamond Crown Elite

When I had my old humidor, I was looking around for a better humidifier, and came across the Diamond Crown. I will admit, the only draw back to them was..people were reporting the cap coming off and leaking.

What I do know is..they have since corrected the problem. The original one I bought is now 8 months old and working perfectly..with no cap issues. My new one is only 3 months old..but with no issues as well.

I never used beads..but the more I hear about it..I'm leaning on putting it in the Vault, when I buy it from cigarmony. I need to read and learn more about beads.

I also have 2 digital hygrometers from Diamond crown...and they work perfectly.

I've also see some other nice digital hygrometers out on the market..that seem like they are small weather stations! lol

When I look at the Elite Humidor..It's hard for me to imagine 140 cigars fitting in there. I would be curious to see this in person, so I could see for myself.

I agree I think the capacity is way over stated but as I read this is a common issue. Any reason visible why this one is cheaper then other simular (stated) capcity models from the same maker?

I don't have the slightest clue as to "why" this one seems a little cheaper. I might take a stroll over to the place I bought my Windsor, to see if he has this model in stock.

That would be very much appreciated. I don't know but the "right" humidor (number 2) seems like a big step.

I guess the first one was easy as it was no humi no cigars.
