Dangit! Is this a humi problem?
Whem the temp goes UP in my house to 71 degrees, the humidity in my humi bottoms to 64 or 65..................when the TEMP goes DOWN, the humidity rises?? Normal? The humi is a 250 ct with 1/2 lbs fully humidified clear beads in it.. Thanks, Stewart

Weird...I always found the opposite to be true. Maybe someone has an answer.

Re: Dangit! Is this a humi problem?
It does make sense; you have a certain amount of humidity in a sealed environment. Relative humidity is the vapor pressure / saturation vapor pressure (how much water can be in vapor at that temperature). As the temperature goes down, your vapor pressure stays the same, but your saturation vapor pressure goes down, so your relative humidity goes up; and vice versa when the temp goes down. Your cedar and the beads should absorb/adsorb the extra moisture when the temp goes down and release more when the temp goes up, but it does take some time.

In my experience the opposite has always been true also.

Re: Dangit! Is this a humi problem?
I've noticed the same thing when doing a salt test. At 70 degrees I got a reading of 78%. I set it on my desk to keep an eye on it and in a matter of minutes the heat from the desk lamp took the temp to 72 and I had a reading of 75%. (tupperware container in a baggie) Made me wonder about the whole should you keep your rh at 65% or 70% regardless of temp or should you compensate.

Re: Dangit! Is this a humi problem?
Everyone who says they see the opposite, the difference here is going to be your seal. With higher temperatures, water evaporates faster, so your humidity can be higher with a slight leak, and the opposite at lower temperatures. With a perfect seal, you would see what BamaDoc's seeing.

Re: Dangit! Is this a humi problem?
I have the same problem my RH fluctuates between 64-71 throughout the day. All my smokes look, feel, and smoke great. I no longer stress about RH levels, as long as my smokes aren’t drying out im happy.
