You're thinking of the Glade plug in fan. The oust one actually works on a "D" battery, so that solves the hook up problem

They are D Cell battery operated fans. Just remember to NOT use the fragrence bottle when adding it to your cooler.

Re: oust fan?

ok.... and I am assuming it stays on to circulate in the cooler, right? I think I am ready to go with the coolerador now and will open it up to anyone passing through Central Florida as a token of thanks for the tips I have recieved here.

Re: oust fan?

I have one in my coolerdor. It doesn't run all the time. I think maybe 2 minutes on, 5 minutes off. That way, it doesn't generate a lot of heat, but it does circulate the air pretty well.

Re: oust fan?

It works great, The Fan cycles on for 5 minutes, off for 15.

Re: oust fan?

My brother in law has one in his cooller and it does work good at ciculating the air. Its nice because you can move it around as to were you need it.

Re: oust fan?

If the air doesn't circulate the air, just add more oust fans.

Re: oust fan?

It's ok I guess, it moves air that's what it's supposed to do, it's not at all strong though, it barely moves a peice of tissue when you put it in front of the fan.
I swapped out the board and put it into another fan with the motor and it moves much more air now.

Oust just came out with a "Tight Space" fan. I think it works with a AA. I'm gonna get two this weekend.

EDIT: Hmmmm . . . http://www.oust.com/oust-small-space/ wierd. I need to look into this more. I don't know if this is an active system now.

I think you're on the right track with the second part of your post. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe this is a fan. I believe it's just a holder for the fragrant oil that doesn't use a fan, therefore it's only used for small spaces. In the link it says no batteries needed, therefore unless it's a some kind of wind up (which I highly doubt) it's just a static dispersal unit. It could be still useful if you want to make your own Acid cigars
