for those of you that have humidification beads in a mesh bag, where in the humi do you keep it and how?

when i spray mine there's always a little bit of run off, even after wiping the outside of the bag down with a cloth, and i don't like the idea of the wet bag being on the wood. just seems that getting the wood wet would be ideal for mold spots to grow in that area.

i did the credo conversion. only problem is that i can't see the beads to see if they need more water...instead, i'm just waiting for signs that the RH is dropping.

huh, maybe i should stop doing that...

After spraying mine I let them sit on a paper towel for about 5 minutes then turn them over for another 5.
I have not had any problem with run-off yet.

i stick them on a sheet of cedar from in between layers in a box-you can also use a cedar wrap if you let it get moist in a ziplock so it's bendable-it also helps to contain "bead dust" that seems to happen

I need to get some more or get an oust fan or both, however ... I'm having a bit of issue with RH at the top of my humi being higher than at the bottom.

Re: where in the humi do you keep your bead bags?

I usually keep the bead bag in the center section of my top tray. However, I have begun moving it to a new spot every few days to see how it affects the RH reading.

Re: where in the humi do you keep your bead bags?

tell ya what i did. i found some butter containers at wal-mart. these are little plastic rectangle containers that are about one inch by one inch by 5 to 6 inches with a lid. cut the lid off and viola! perfect little bead container. i've got four of these in my vicksburg. two on the top shelf and two in the bottom of it. seems to work out great. plus i can see my beads through the glass top without opening the lid!
