Preferred humidification for travel caddy
I will be taking my 10ct Cigar Caddy on a trip and heard stories about people using the small humidifier and arriving with damp sticks.
I am torn between putting in a 1oz tube with beads and a humidity sheet. The problem with the humididty sheet might be that the foam is designed to hold the sticks in place and the sheet might affect that. |

Re: Preferred humidification for travel caddy
If it is only a few days or even a week I would not worry about it.

Re: Preferred humidification for travel caddy
Most of the time a good travel humidor will keep your humidity pretty good for a few days.
I can have cigars in mine for 5-6 days with no ill effects.

Re: Preferred humidification for travel caddy
yeah, don't use anything, i say. unless you're gone for something like 2+ weeks and you're opening the caddy all the time.
the cigar caddy is airtight, so no moisture comes in or out. if your cigars are well humidified before going in, they will maintain just fine in the caddy. the only time moisture goes in and out is when you open it. i've gone on week long trips with my 5-ct and my cigars have been perfectly fine. if you're really really set on using some humidification, you'll probably just want to stick to a small single drop of distilled water in the built in credo (i think there's one in the 10-ct, i know there's one in the 5-ct) |

Re: Preferred humidification for travel caddy
I've never added a humidification device to my cigar caddies on trips as long as ten days with absolutely no problems.

Re: Preferred humidification for travel caddy
You dont use anything.
For a few days it is fine the way it is. Your cigars will be kept in perfect condition. You can also go with a humi sheet that is available from Cigar Solutions. They are thin and take up no space and last a while and can be recharged in your humidor. For a bigger case you can go with a Puck from Cigarmony. The 32ct fits the puck perfect. You can also use a small tiube of beads, but in my opinion it takes up to much space. The Humi Sheet takes up nothing.

The Humi Sheet is a must-have item IMHO. Stays in the desktop humi to keep it charged and it's ready whenever I get ready to travel. Fits under the foam in my travel box and keeps things at a perfect 65%. |

Re: Preferred humidification for travel caddy
My trips are limited to a few days. I just spritz the built-in puck with a bit of distilled water, and they're always fresh, no matter how often I open and close the travel case.

I use the x-treme case and the seal keeps it completely airtight if the humidifcation disk is filled with distilled water or pg solution. My cigars are perfect for days at a time with nothing else. You can get them at http://www.northstarcases.com/produc...+Humidors.aspx.

Another vote for the puck. Lasts for months on a single charge of water!
