PEG in oasis

I have in my 120 count humi 2 seperate 2oz heartfelt bead tubes and a 10z on the top shelf. I also have been putting drops of 50/50 in the humidifier with fairly good results and my rh has been steady at around 69-72 which is a range I am comfortable with.

Is it good practice to keep dropping the solution in the humidifier when it dries out or is it overkill?

Re: PEG in oasis

If you are using both beads and the P&G in the humidifier, that is supposed to be bad for your beads as I understand it and will lower the life expectancy of your beads over time. The PG is good for keeping it at 70% or so typically. I'd use just one or the other. Also in your thread title, it says oasis, I'm assuming you mean your humidifier right and not the Cigar Oasis?

Thanks, and yes, that was a misprint. I am in a dilemma about whether to switch to the oasis, but that's another thread in the future.

Re: PEG in oasis

anything smaller than a 500ct, the CO is a waste of $ IMHO-takes up usable space & just doesn't seem necessary-beads are almost as maintainence free, they just don't bring the rh back up as fast after you open the humi

Re: PEG in oasis

I wouldn't use a CO in a humi of say 100-150 ct but in a coolerdor or cabinet these can be excellent. I've found them to recharge the RH% very quickly.
