Marine-ador

So I decided to set up a coolerdor-esque humidor system. I bought a marine dry-box. Its an airtight, "water resistant" locking plastic container. It was cheap, about $8, since I didn't feel it necessary to get the fully submersible version. I have a few, and use them for the designated purpose, but I thought it best to get a new one. It's 1755 cu in. which is just under a cubic foot. I've got my hygrometer salt testing right now. I'm heading off to the cigar store to get some a couple of empty boxes and some spanish cedar sheets to line it with, and of course a couple of smokes. I'm really excited.

I've decided to go with 4 ounces of the Heartfelt beads, as it seems these are the best to go with. However, I can't make up my mind on the 65% or the 70%. There seems to be some argument on which is best. I live in a very humid environment, I'm not sure if this makes much of a difference. I could use some advice on this.

Also, I promise pics once I get this thing set up and stocked.

Re: Marine-ador

If it helps at all, my 65 beads are always a little high like 66-67, so if you think 65 may be a hair too low, just keep that in mind. Hope that helps.

Re: Marine-ador

i think the rh is a personal choice thing-i think ones stored at 65% burn better & ya get to taste more of the flavors, but that's just me

Re: Marine-ador

As was mentioned, the RH is a matter of personnal preference. I've tried the 60%, 65%, and 70% beads. I've found the 60% to be just a bit too dry for me, and 70% causes lots of burn/flavor issues. I use the 65%.
