Exclamation HARD DRAW Problems! Help

Hey fellow stoagsters, I finally got my hands on these new Padilla Signature 1932's on CBid..I couldn't wait to smoke one on my deck as soon as I rec'd them...I've bought many Tat's and Pad Miami's and even the Don Pepin black and blue labels but I was really disappointed..Although they were a solid roll and burned evenly..They had a unbelievable draw, like sucking a softball thru a garden hose, the draw was so hard, I was getting a headache and my jaw hurt!!
its burned unbelievably slow and little smoke....I thought it was a bad one but smoked one the next day and same results...Has anybody seen this too?
Could they be too moist?? Should I leave them out a few days to dry up....
I expected more at +$10/stick ...any thoughts on how to make these more enjoyable?

It sounds like they were to wet let them sit for a day before smoking. also try to feel for any hard spots along the length of the cigar and gently try squeezing it to relax the tight spots.

thanks Commander Quan....Is that Romulan or Klingon?
I thought it was plugged but the cigars give and I feel no hard spots..I kept cutting up the edge thinking it would ease the pain,,but it smoked hard to the end...really strange

If you bought a box of them I would ask for a exchange from the vendor or the cigar company themselves.

Re: HARD DRAW Problems! Help

i like to let new arrivals sit for a wk in a 65% humi-seems to help a lot unless they're real wet, then they sit longer-don't be in too much of a rush & burn up the box b4 ya have a chance to enjoy them

If you're at all interested, I'll be happy to send along e-brochures on both Henry's Classic and Signature Series tools, along with a copy of the instruction sheet. Just email us at: neef.norris@netscape.com

BTW... I agree with the dry-boxing approach as a "first resort." It seems to help many of my sticks loosen up.

Onward & Forward!

Agreed, they sound too wet. Cbid ships on the wet side so a good two is probably needed for them to smoke right.

Re: HARD DRAW Problems! Help

I agree with what folks have said. They sound a little wet and dryboxing is definately the first thing I would try.

Get these tools. They will fix any plugged cigar and make them smokeable.

I second that cbid ships on the very moist side. I've been letting my new boxes sit for 2 weeks now and they are just starting to burn well.

Re: HARD DRAW Problems! Help

Everything seems to have already been said so good luck, sux to have a box of hard to hit cigars, because you really want to smoke them and can't. I feel your pain. I had to dry mine out for a bit, but careful first time they went to dry and tasted like a camel wide.

Re: HARD DRAW Problems! Help

You don't many options at this point. Try leaving one out for a few days and try again. If that does not work, there's little else you can do. Some have luck with pokers, etc.... but I can not be bothered with them. Have a back up cigar if you are going out with the problematic cigar. Maybe you can return/exchange them to your B&M?
