Help me pick a cigar punch

I have always used cutters Xikar and Palio plus some cheaper ones. I normally don't punch but I think it wouldn't hurt to have one around for big rg cigars. Also for smaller robustos(spelling?) and such. I have looked a couple of cheep ones on ebay, but I know you get what you pay for. I am trying to spend less than $20. I also wouldn't mind having a Xikar Mean Sardine for larger rg cigars but can't find one. Any help would be great.

Just keep in mind I am an cutter and lighter junkie.

Might also be interested in a trade for some smokes or a lighter for trade to a Mean Sardine and Punch.

I bought my Punch (actually, several. For gifts) from these guys:

http://www.littlehavanacigars.com/products.asp?cat=21

It was a good product and I had good service. They've got lighters & lots of other stuff, too.

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

Thanks WyoBob I think. I went to order a punch and spent $50. How does that happen?

wharfrathoss I am on my way to my B&M today. I may talk to you if they don't have one.

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

don't get the xikar (or any punch) that twists to open
if you have it in your pocket the blade will come out and get dinged up

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

Some B&M's have them for like 3 bucks.... they work fine.

Of course if you want something diamond tipped and ivory inlaid you can probably find that too.

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

LiteHedded I did get one that's like the Xikar, but I rarely keep one in my pocket just got it to try with some Sancho Panza's I have left around.

JPH You haven't seen my B&M the little $3 ones you see on line are $8-9. Lets just say I hardly ever purchase anything there. Plus the next closest one is a good hour away.

if you don't carry it on your keys or anything it's a very nice punch

I've got to where I hardly ever carry any other than my car keys. All the rest are on rings in the car.

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

My B&M has started carrying a new model Xikar punch. It unscrews so the blade doesn't pop out in your pocket. Looks really nice and pretty hefty too.

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

I use a Xikar 007, and I love it. Before that I was using a cheap plastic double guillotine. Once I got the punch, it revolutionized my smoking experiances. It's simply amazing.

Re: Help me pick a cigar punch

I bought a Vector punch from Cigarmony.com, and I'm not terribly impressed. It's not very sharp, so sometimes it doesn't cut all the way through the cap without alot of pressure. I'm sure I can figure out some way to sharpen it though.
