Single or Multiple Humidors

I have a quick question for masses. I have a 65ct humidor and it works very well, updated hygrometer and viper beads. I currently have it full and am in need of more space.

My question is what do you guys feel is better, larger humidors or multiple smaller ones? I can pick up one just like the one I have or spend roughly double and get a 150-200ct humidor.

I was considering using the new one for aging and the old one for housing the ones I will be smoking on a regular basis.

Any thoughts

I like one large one.

With a large one all you cigar are kept at the same temp and humidity. Its a lot less work as well.

Go coolador or get a nice cabinet.

Coolers are the way to go for aging or long term storage. I don't have the need for anything bigger than the humi I have, but when I need more space I'll probably go with the cooler for the price and functionability.

Bigger is better, imo. If you are considering a 200 count, think bigger!

haha, yeah, i agree. the thing with having multiple small ones is that you'll likely keep needing a new one. that means one more humi to obsess over for proper RH/Temp...one more humi to reorganize and talk to. last thing is that with all the little humis sitting around, you'll start cluttering up your room/house...which you may not mind, your wife/mother/girlfriend/dog may otherwise.

Re: Single or Multiple Humidors

I bought a 100 CT.

Then a 250 CT.

Then a 500 CT.

Then a 1000 CT.

A mini-cabinet.

A second mini-cabinet.

Now I have an Aristocrat coming.

Could have saved some money if I would have thought bigger sooner.

Re: Single or Multiple Humidors

I am fairly new to cigar keeping but personally I like to keep multiple humidors of various sizes because when I get a new shipment in I keep them in a smaller humi for about a month. just to make sure there are no problems (like beetles.) Then after the month I move them into my larger humi.

Of course you will end up needing a cooler sooner or later so maybe buy the small humi and a cooler with the money you will save from not buying the larger one.
